2 SPEED - LX Lingxiao 56 Frame Pump 3.0 HP 230 volts 56WUA300-II

Emerald Spa Estate 450 DHN GDC FUL, 9 yrs old. Water dropping 2 inches/week. Unboxing discovered plastic electric cord strain relief nut crooked, not screwed on properly, cross threaded. Still able to use it for install. Checked screws that secure plastic pump housing together, was able to slightly tighten them, carefully snugged them up. Before mounting pump I unwired electrical cable from defective pump. Discovered the electrical schematic diagrams on each pump were identical with ONE EXCEPTION: Wire colors for High and Low speed were opposite. Given the schematics showed terminal #’s and internal motor wiring identical I duplicated wire terminal placement for High and Low speed wires same as on old pump. After install and testing High and Low speed functions correctly. I re-used my original fittings so I wouldn't have to re-plumb everything and not further disturb existing piping. I used one of the new o-rings on the end/face of pump but NOT on top fitting. Top fitting o-ring is smaller diameter than new o-rings included. For the top/upper fitting I re-used the original o-ring. I carefully cleaned it and before assembly placed very small amount of plumbers grease on both o-rings. Wanted to prevent any chance of o-rings binding or pinching and helped keep the o-rings in place during assembly. I used PVC Pliers (Husky Model #17PL0309) to tighten pump inlet and outlet fittings. On plastic face of pump housing there are small threaded ports with plugs installed. My hot tub uses one of these ports. Problem is my hot tub uses a 90 degree fitting with 3/8" ID tubing. SpaCare only sells a straight fitting for these small ports and I couldn’t find a new 90 deg fitting. It's a metric straight thread with o-ring. I ordered the straight fitting from SpaCare and had to replace the original tubing as it was too short to bend around to the new fitting. After filling hot tub with water and powering up observed small leak around top/upper PVC fitting on pump. Used PVC pliers to further tighten another quarter inch and leak stopped. New pump installed and running for about a week and so far water level is holding. Thank you again SpaCare for your advice, friendly service, prompt shipping, and competitive pricing.
