How to use:
  1. Read the Instructions: Start by carefully reading the instructions provided on your chemical supplies. Pay close attention to safety precautions and dosage recommendations.
  2. Adjust pH Levels: Ensure the pH level of your pool or hot tub water is within the recommended range (usually 7.2 to 7.6). If it's not in the correct range, use pH increasers or decreasers as necessary.
  3. Test Water Chemistry: Before adding any chlorine, it's essential to test your pool or hot tub's water chemistry. You can use test strips or a liquid test kit to measure parameters like pH, chlorine levels, and alkalinity.
  4. Measure the Chlorine Granules: Consult the product label to determine the correct dosage of chlorine granules based on the spa's water volume and the desired chlorine level. Typically, you'll need 1-2 tablespoons of granules per 500 gallons of water to raise the chlorine level by 1 ppm.
  5. Add Chlorine Granules: Carefully measure the required amount of chlorine granules and add them to the bucket of warm water. Always add the chemicals to the water, never the other way around. Stir the water to dissolve the granules thoroughly.
  6. Wait and Recheck: Allow the spa's circulation system to run for at least 30 minutes to ensure proper mixing of the chlorine. Afterward, retest the water to verify that the chlorine level has reached the desired range. If necessary, repeat the process until the desired chlorine levels.
  7. Additional Chemicals: Some starter kits may include other chemicals such as non-chlorine shock, metal removers, enzymes, and scale preventers. Follow the provided instructions if these are part of your kit.
