At Fresh Fill: Never add chemicals without testing first. Even spas that seem to be predictable can surprise you. Always test first
Step 1
Follow the directions provided with your testing method
Step 2
Record the test results.
Step 3
Turn on pump(s) for the duration of the treatment.
Step 4
Add 3oz. of Stain & Scale / Metal Remover.
Step 5
Always balance in this order. Alkalinity, PH, Sanitizer.
Step 6
Determine if Alkalinity needs adjustment. (80 ppm – 120 ppm) If so, measure out the correct amount and broadcast over surface of water. If Alkalinity is being adjusted, do not adjust PH at this time. Most often, the PH will naturally rise along with Alkalinity after treatment.

Step 7
Balance the PH (7.2 – 7.6). If Alkalinity is in range, but the PH is out of range, determine the correct amount of increaser or decreaser needed and apply to spa water with pumps running.
Step 8
Wait at least 15 minutes before testing again.
Step 9
Re-test chemicals to be sure Ph is within range
Step 10
Balance Sanitizer. Add needed amount of chlorine or bromine to the water. If using Liquids, never exceed more than ¼ cup at any time. If using granular, never exceed more than 2 tablespoons at a time. You can always add more, but removing sanitizer requires neutralizing chemicals, or non-usage / evaporative times. If using a floater for tablets, add this now.
Step 11
Add Non- Chlorine Shock, (Oxidizer, Monopersulfate) Follow directions on packaging for recommended amount.
Step 12
Wait 3 hours or until the next day.
Step 13
Add ½ oz. of Enzyme.
Step 14
Allow water to heat up and chemicals to stabilize themselves.
