This pump is commonly found in Cal Spas & Coleman brand hot tubs under the old PUM22000842 or PRC9094X part number.

This Pump Replaces the NOW OBSOLETE: Cal Spa Power-Right 56 Frame 6.0 HP 230 Volt 2 Speed Pump with Model Numbers: PRC9094X

The Amp rating of the pump shown is 12.0 Amps. It replaces both the 12.0 and 13.6 Amp Power Right Pumps. The pump you currently have is a 3.0 HP pump. There is not a true 6.0 HP available in the Spa Industry.

Motor burnt up after it was plugged in for 5 min. We called the company but they never answer. E mail is the only way to communicate. They wanted us to send pics of the moter to see how it was wired. we did, Then wanted us to send the lables off the unit. we did that as well. Mysteriously the lables have not been received by them. They said I should have sent this certified with tracking. I said I would send the whole motor back and just want a replacement. They said they need the lables for the warrenty. This has been a nighmare dealing with this company. We by no means are gonna just eat the cost of this worthless motor. I have begged for a replacement because the one they sent us was defective. Again all they want are the lables that they claim they never received. We will be contacting the manufacture and BBB. I will update if they do what is right and send the replacement.

Fits like a glove

"This unit was described as Drop-in to replace the pump in the Cal Spa PL389, and it was exactly that. It fit perfectly without any plumbing changes. The unit does seem to run hotter to the touch than the OEM one, but the jury's out on whether or not that's an issue at all."

Perfect replacement for old call spa pumps.

Other reviews are spot on. Replaced both pumps as one had gone out about 4 months back and the other began recently with loud bearing noise. Both are now quiet and the pressure is better than the old ones.

Pump came in 4 days and fit perfect.runs super quiet.make sure to buy new union pieces if your tub is old.my call spa had 4 gate valves all of which were shot.i eliminated them with other parts from spa care.everything was as advertised and I basically rebuilt my pump system.had to get some 2 inch pipe locally.

I have a CAlSpa and bearings were going out on pump. Had become very noisy and was not circulating water efficiently. Called my home warranty company First American, which is absolutely not worth the money and they refused repairs. I removed the pump myself and ordered the pump from SpaCare which was extremely easy and a great price for the product. Hooked it up and paid an electrician to do the wiring hookup. It works great and water is circulating much better than it has ever since we bought the property.

Problem fixed

I ordered this pump but when I installed it, it was leaking. I thought it was coming from the large/main o-ring. I removed the pump from the tub, dried it off, and left it on my counter with water in the wet end. About 10 min. later, i discovered that there was a crack in the housing. I sent an email to customer service (on a Sunday) and they (David) responded the same day. He guided me through the warranty process and got another pump out quickly. The new pump works perfectly. Great response. Great customer service. Thx for taking care of my problem in a professional manner.

I bought this to replace an original Power-Right pump. I agree with the assessment that this is a bolt-in replacement. The original was held down with six bolts and this pump only has four, but four of the original holes lined up. The wiring is noted differently between the pumps, but if you pay attention to the speed instead of the color, it becomes pretty obvious how to move the cable over. The location of the ground screw is different, so you may need to lengthen the ground wire. The drain fitting from the old pump fits the new pump as well. The pump its self seems to be a better design with more bolts holding the halves together, so it should be less likely to warp and leak.

Very easy to install, entire job took only 30 minutes. Direct fit, other than lag bolt locations. No biggie, piloted new holes and all is well. Replaced this unit in my 2008 CalSpas spa. Yes, you can do it too! Tech support David was great, even answered my wiring question on a Saturday. Hint: if you are replacing yours, pull the motor on a weekday and email David with the wire colors and you motor model # so you have the correct wiring in advance. I will do business with these guys again!

I received this product promptly, securely packaged to avoid shipment damage, and I only had one question on how to correctly transfer the inner wires; as the connections were slightly different. I e-mailed spa-care and David Pratt responded with the answer right away! For my spa H=R, C=W, and L=B. Hooked it up and it is running absolutely perfectly! I couldn't be happier!! Would highly recommend this product to anyone with a faulty pump on a cal spa! It would have cost as much for the parts to just rebuild my old one; with questionable quality on the rebuild as I would have had to do it myself. I'm glad I found Spa Care on the net!
