It's easy to become confused when trying to read a spec label on any appliance in your home. Pump Specification labels are no exception. All manufacturers of motors, pumps, and other related products tend to stick to the same general format while displaying Technical Specs. Some variations in this do exist, however, with a little effort the information you are looking for should be easily attainable.
It's important to remember that spec labels only supply part of the information needed for a full pump replacement. (See “Choosing the Right Spa Pump”) for an overview on what it takes to be sure you have the right pump. See below for the most important Specs to look for on your existing pump.

Useful tech tip to read hidden spa pump labels
When spec labels are on the wrong side of the pump or simply hard to see, consider reaching back with your cell phone and taking a picture. You can also use a mechanic’s telescopic mirror and a flashlight. Extend the mirror over the sticker, aim the flashlight at the mirror and it will light up the spec sticker. You will have to read it backwards, but you will get the information you are looking for.
